From the Desk of Carol Bangura, M.S.Ed.,
This volunteer foundation was started as a way to giveback to my country of birth, Sierra Leone, in less than one year, I was able to touch the lives of thousands of children. While advocating for books for Sierra Leone, I discovered children in all over the world could benefit from the books I was collecting.
As a 2010 Points of Light Institute Daily Point of Light Awardee, presented by President George Bush Sr and Michelle Nunn, I know the impact and the "Power of One". What began as a way to donate a box of books has evolved beyond my dreams.
I was privileged to attend a tribute to President Bush on February 21, 2011 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC which changed my life. There I was, in the same room with President Bush Sr, President Carter, President Bush Jr and President Clinton, and so many others, AMAZING! The messages brought forth that night reaffirmed my dedication to the children in Sierra Leone, Philadelphia and beyond.
Yours in Service,
Carol Sallymatu Bangura
